    psi is looking for a Student Support Specialist to work FULL TIME Monday-Friday during the school year.  

     

    psi is dedicated to providing high-quality services to help students improve their grades, attitudes, health and behavior. PSI employees work in their assigned school for the entire year, allowing them to partner with interdisciplinary staff as well as students to meet the individual needs of each student. Employees provide innovative resources within the fields of education, psychology, speech/language pathology, school health, prevention, and tutoring.

    Responsibilities

    Specific duties Include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Work with students and families of the school who require basic counseling and/or social service referrals
    • Meet with students referred for non-discipline, discipline, academic and other services to assess and determine service outcomes
    • Work closely with the community and social service entities to assist in obtaining necessary resources, information and assistance for the students and families
    • Assist administrators with resolving attendance issues and implement and manage attendance plans.
    • Maintain confidentiality in all student and professional matters, and work professionally and cooperatively to achieve duties and responsibilities
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social service or related field REQUIRED, Master’s degree preferred
    • License (LSW, LPC, LISW, etc.) Strongly preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Satisfactory completion of state required criminal history check
    • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds
    • Ability to travel as needed
