    psi  is looking for a School  Counselor for a private elementary school in NORTH ROYALTON, OHIO.  This position is approximately 1 day a week.  Additional hours are potentially available at a second location.

    Responsibilities

    Specific duties are assigned by PSI in consultation with school and/or district personnel.  School Counselor duties may include the following:

    • Ensures nonpublic student eligibility--based on residence and the home-school being Title I served.
    • Prioritize eligible students based on need through the use of standard multi-criteria measures.
    • Facilitates the personal, interpersonal and educational development of the child.
    • May provide counseling for the individual student.
    • Conducts small group guidance activities.
    • Consults with parents, teachers, administrators, and other school personnel in such areas as understanding child-adolescent development, interpreting schools records, and test information, providing information about educational opportunities, and planning behavior management strategies to support improved academic achievement.
    • Assesses students, develops, implements, and evaluates the guidance program.
    • Maintains accurate records for student eligibility and participation.
    • Tracks student peer relationships, academic motivation, and social/emotional well-being.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Must have a Master's degree in School Counseling
    • Previous School Guidance experience 
    • Must be licensed as a School Counselor through the ODE
    • Must be well-versed in applicable state and federal law
    • Experience working as a School Counselor is strongly preferred
    • Collaborative, constructive team building skills are required
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and other staff members 
    • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment in all aspects of the job

    If hired, candidate must complete a BCI/FBI Background check and be in compliance with Ohio Administrative Code Rule 3301-20-01.
