    Responsibilities

    • Serve as the direct supervisor of the PSI Health Services Employees in area including Health assistants, Medical Assistants, LPN's and/or RN's.
    • Work with PSI office in the implementation of new policies and procedures to area. 
    • Cover school clinics as needed
    • Assess and monitor student health needs and provide appropriate nursing interventions and services to students by performing professional nursing duties as defined in the PSI Health Resource Guide and the State Department of Health and in accordance with acceptable nursing practice guidelines
    • Administer prescribed medications and monitor student behavior and reaction to the administration of medication
    • Provide first aid as required and nursing interventions for acute and chronic medical complaints
    • Complete required documentation of health services needed and provided
    • Administer screenings 
    • Ensure immunization records are up to date for each student
    • Provide and promote relationships between community health providers and students, parents, and the community at large.  

     

    Qualifications

    • Must be knowledgeable about OSHA guidelines, communicable disease prevention, medication protocol, medical records management, and crisis intervention procedures
    • School-based or pediatric experience strongly preferred 
    • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and other staff members. 
    • Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment in all aspects of the job
    • ODE School Nurse License preferred but not required

    If hired, must obtain a current CPR and First Aide certification and pass a comprehensive background check (FBI/BCI check in compliance with Ohio Administrative Code Rule 3301-20-01) prior to starting in a school.
