The Physical Therapist works on the acquisition of/or compensations for deficits in fine motor skills, sensory motor skills, visual motor and visual perceptual skills, and self-care skills.The School Physical Therapist develops, implements and coordinates a physical therapy program within the school.  Duties include:

  • Providing screening, evaluation and intervention services.
  • Working with students with disabilities and serious health impairments, the physical therapist is expected to analyze risk, problem solve effectively.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professional judgment when recommending and providing services, making environmental modifications and consulting with staff to manage physical needs at an appropriate level.


  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy 
  • Must be licensed as a  Physical Therapist in the State of Ohio
  • Ohio Department of Education License Preferred but not required
  • Must be well-versed in applicable state and federal law
  • Collaborative, constructive team building skills 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and other staff members
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment in all aspects of the job
