We are currently looking for a Part Time Medical Assistant to work in an elementary school setting in Stark County.   This position would be Monday-Friday school days from approximately 9am-2pm.  Come see why our employees nominated PSI as a Top Workplace in 2016 and 2017!

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Registered Nurse with students’ health needs
  • Administer prescribed medications in accordance with school board policy, ORC 3313-713, and PSI policy.
  • Provide first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures
  • Assist the RN with all screening programs and school health programs
  • Complete and maintain required documentation of student health records and health services provided
  • Establish and maintain a high state of neatness, cleanliness and organization in the school health clinic at all times
  • Provide and promote relationships between community health providers and students, parents, and the community at large.

***Specific duties vary depending on the building to which PSI staff is assigned as well as the roles of each position. 

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma from accredited medical assistant program required
  • Recent clinical/medical assistant experience (within last 2-4 years)
  • Experience caring for children strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of communicable disease prevention and medication protocol 
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws & ability to appropriately handle confidential information
  • Collaborative, constructive team building skills 
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills 

If hired, must obtain a current CPR and First Aide certification and pass a comprehensive background check (FBI/BCI check) as part of the orientation process.
