We are looking for  Health Aide to work in a school clinic in Bedford, Ohio area.  The assignment is 22.5 hours a week Monday-Friday for the entire school year.  A must have diabetic experience to be considered.

Under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse, the Health Aide will assist in providing services to schools that work toward the good health and wellness of students and the improvement of health conditions in general.   Health Aide duties are defined by the PSI Health Resource Guide and the State Department of Health.

  • Assist the Registered Nurse with students’ health needs
  • Administer prescribed medications in accordance with school board policy, ORC 3313-713, and PSI policy.
  • Provide first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures
  • Assist the RN with all screening programs and school health programs
  • Complete and maintain required documentation of student health records and health services provided
  • Establish and maintain a high state of neatness, cleanliness and organization in the school health clinic at all times
  • Provide and promote relationships between community health providers and students, parents, and the community at large.

***Specific duties vary depending on the building to which PSI staff is assigned as well as the roles of each position. 




  • Experience monitoring diabetic patients and administering insulin required
  • Experience caring for children strongly preferred, STNA, PCNA, PCA experience desired.
  • Knowledge of communicable disease prevention and medication protocol 
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws & ability to appropriately handle confidential information
  • Collaborative, constructive team building skills 
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

If hired, must obtain a current CPR and First Aide certification and pass a comprehensive background check (FBI/BCI check) as part of the orientation process.
