PSI is looking for a Licensed Social Worker to work 3-4 days a week in area elementary school settings in Inkster and Roseville, Michigan for the 2017/2018 school year!  In recognition of your hard work we offer a very competitive hourly salary UP TO $42.00 an hour!

The Social Worker is responsible for applying knowledge of social work theories and interventions in order to provide student assessment, recommend IEP services and determine eligibility for special education services. Provide social services and assistance to improve the social and psychological function of children and to strengthen home/school/community partnerships and alleviate barriers to learning.


  • Manage caseload and develops an effective schedule which allows for direct service, collaboration and program management
  • Work with community groups to develop supportive resources.
  • Work with  team (e.g., school counselors and speech therapists) and teachers, parents, and administrators to try to alleviate specific problems.
  • Consult with parents on effective intervention strategies.
  • Consult with classroom teachers to help them better understand and work with particular students.
  • Evaluate students to determine need for emotional and social development services.
  • Conduct social development studies for students referred for special education services.
  • Administer standardized behavior scales.
  • Prepare a written diagnostic report for educational referrals.





  • Michigan licensed School Social Worker
  • Knowledge of special education requirements in K-12 school setting
  • Ability to form liaison relationships with parents, schools and agencies
  • Strong organizational skills
