Intervention Specialist



PSI is looking for part time and full time Intervention Specialists in the Columbus area. Bonus available!



PSI works with area schools to provide educational and health-care support needed for students.  School leaders have relied on PSI for nearly 4 decades to provide qualified professionals to address the various needs of their student populations.  We currently have Full time and Part time positions in local Columbus schools.  You would be assigned to one school for the rest of the 2017/2018 school year.

  • Collaborate with staff and parents/guardians to create and implement Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs), Service Plans (SPs) and/or other intervention programs.
  • Provide accommodations, modifications and interventions to qualifying students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to develop specialized instruction that maximizes students’ access to the general education content standards.
  • Provide specialized instruction to students with special needs in one-on-one, small-group, or inclusion settings in accordance with IEPs and/or SPs.
  • Support the achievement of unidentified students by providing interventions as requested by other school staff with parent permission.
  • Complete written IEP and/or ISP progress reports at least as frequently as general education progress reports are written (minimum of once quarterly).
  • Provide copies of progress reports to parents, other teachers, and the school.
  • Administer formative and summative progress evaluations to demonstrate effectiveness of instructional practices.



  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master's preferred
  • Current ODE license as an Intervention Specialist
  • Experience teaching in special education preferred
  • Well-versed in state and federal special education law
  • Experience with ETRs and IATs
  • Experience writing IEPs and/or ISPs
  • Collaborative, constructive team building skills 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and other staff members. 
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment in all aspects of the job
